Casa DO BOTÂNICO

- Azores -

Up to 14 guests | 7 bedrooms

The Casa do Botânico is located on the south coast of São Miguel Island. The house was built in 1832 and its garden was projected by the great Azorean landscaper António Borges in 1862. This house has always belonged to the same Azorean family.

The main house is split into three floors. On the ground level there’s a spacious entrance hall, a small bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a piano room with a fireplace and a bar and a cosy living room with direct access to the garden that adjoins to the dining room. The 4 biggest rooms can be found on the 1st floor, one has an ensuite bathroom and the other ones share a bathroom. On the top floor there’s a smaller suite, a dorm with two single beds and a small bathroom. There is wi-fi available in all the house and there’s a small office to telework.

There is also another small independent house located in the lower part of the garden, near the main house, with 3 bedrooms, a small living room and a bathroom where three more people can stay. This one has a simpler decor and a more rustic feel.

In the outside patio near the kitchen there’s an 8-seat dining table. The botanical garden outlines the house with a swimming pool, a pin pong table, pétanque and mokky. There’s a grotto near the pool equipped with bath towels, a changing cabin, a bathing suit dryer and a fridge.
