Casa da TALHA

A slice of rural heaven where the character of the Alentejo is embodied with a new vision. Just a 1.5-hour drive from Lisbon, 30 mins from the Atlantic beaches of Portugal’s Alentejo and the cool coastline of Comporta is a landscape filled with heavy cork trees, caramel cows and a slower pace of life at Casa da Talha.

As you peel away from the sleepy local town of Grândola, winding streets become a whitewashed anomaly in the vast, arid landscape and soon, down a dusty farmers track, your home for the next few days emerges from the terra; a slice of rural heaven where the character of the Alentejo is embodied with a new vision.

Sitting atop 20 acres of undulating topography as far as the eye can see, Casa da Talha (quite literally, “Home of the Return”) is a contemporary redefinition of rural living and design in every sense, and one where every detail counts.

This is a house that is part of a new movement. A movement of stays and experiences in Portugal that go against the grain, that chooses isolation over ‘hot spot’ location, resulting in a serious destination.
