Traditional families in the north have, for centuries,   passed on ornamental gold jewellery created by local artisans called “filigrana”, from generation to generation, and celebrate this custom and art-form in a beautiful festival in the summer where all women “minhotas”  dress up in the regional attire and put on all of their gold “filigrana” at once.
