This house is located inside the demarcated Douro Valley winemaking region, between Mesão Frio and Peso da Régua, and has a perfect location to explore this unique territory.

Surrounded by the typical Douro landscape, filled with vineyards which are planted in staircase-like terraces, it is the ideal place for spending family holidays or for a group of friends wishing to relax and explore the Douro.

The estate was completely renovated maintaining the typical architectural traits of the original building, which dates to the 17^th century, and the decoration combines antique pieces and classic furniture bringing the long history of the house to the present moment.

In the main building there are 3 bedrooms – one twin and two double – and 3 independent apartments (two for 2 guests and another that accommodates up to 4 people). The bedrooms can be found on the 1st floor, alongside a communal living room with a fireplace and a dining room, and all are equipped with air conditioning.

The apartments are located on the ground floor and they’re all equipped with a kitchen, air-con and TV. These are perfect for those seeking some extra privacy or for couples with children. Two of them have a double bedroom and one bathroom and another has two bedrooms, one double and one twin, and two bathrooms.

Besides the main building, there is another 2-bedroom apartment which used to be the caretakers’ house, and also has a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and two bathrooms. There’s also a beautiful small chapel, which can be visited during the day, and a lawn perfect to relax and enjoy some meals al fresco. The swimming pool was built on a terrace next to the chapel and offers beautiful views over Santa Marta de Penaguião and the vineyards.

The old granite presses were converted into a games room with snooker, games tables, a TV and a lounge area, and are a great bet to spend some quality time together.

In some rooms and apartments it’s possible to add a bed or a baby crib at an extra cost.

Despite not being possible to use the main house’s kitchen, breakfast is available upon request and it’s also possible to order home-cooked meals from local and traditional restaurants to make the most of the stay at this special house.
