Casas na Areia is located in Comporta, one hour south of Lisbon. The region is well known for its white sandy beaches, great wines, fresh fish and beautiful rice fields.

It is integrated on the natural reserve of the river Sado, which is home to a great variety of wildlife such as flamingos, storks and dolphins. It is also one of the best places in Portugal for bird watching.

Casas na Areia has 4 houses: the thatched walls and the sand floor revive the memory of the old fisherman’s houses, while the minimalism of contemporary architecture highlights the space’s simplicity.
