CASA MEIA LUA
Up to 18 guests | 7 suites & 2 studio apartments | 9 bathrooms
This unique house can be found inside a spectacular property located in the heart of the Minho region and its first references date back to 1258. During the 18th century the original building was rebuilt and gave origin to a sumptuous Manor House that stands tall in the middle of the lush green vegetation typical from the northern part of the country.
Throughout the years, the property has had several well-known owners including Lord Peter Pitt Millward, who enriched the interiors with valuable paintings and sculptures. Classified as a Monument of Public Interest and with countless interesting stories, many important political meetings and extravagant parties have been held inside its walls.
Recently it suffered deep renovations and the annex resulted into Casa Meia Lua – a place for exclusive holidays, retreats, and residencies, providing accommodation and promoting experiences that highlight the local culture, community, nature, and its products.
Casa Meia Lua is only a stone throw’s away from the Manor House and faces a garden area to one side and a dense forest to the other. This building comprises seven suites (each one with 2 single beds or 1 double bed and enough space to accommodate a baby if needed). The bedrooms corridor is connected to a 3-level tower where the common areas can be found. These include a contemporary and cosy living room with a fireplace and smart TV, a dining room that offers gorgeous views over the woods and a fully equipped modern kitchen with 40 sqm.
Inside this same building there are also two studio apartments with independent entrances and capacity to accommodate 2 adults and 1 child to 2 children each. These two studio-apartments are equipped with a kitchenette and can be rented together with the house or separately.
Despite being situated in an apparently remote countryside area, Casa Meia Lua is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay. All bedrooms include top-quality linens, bath amenities and individually controlled air-conditioning. There’s also free Wi-Fi throughout the whole house.
For the little ones’ there are cots, highchairs, appropriate cutlery and crockery and to encourage outdoor experiences there is a wide range of raincoats and wellies available.
Guests are invited to visit the Manor House noble floor, as well as its balcony, and have access to all outdoor grounds, which include a vegetable garden and orchards where it’s possible to pick veggies, fruits and aromatics, a outdoor salt-water pool, a heated indoor pool, a tennis court, historical gardens, a kids playground, a vineyard and a lake area.
Upon request it’s possible to order many add-on services, such as a continental breakfast pack to be delivered to the house, grocery shopping, chef at home, daily cleaning, laundry service, yoga instructor, massages and tennis classes.
