Founded in 1824, this porcelain factory was the first industrial unit dedicated to the production of porcelain in Portugal. The entrepreneurial spirit of its founder was paramount to the success of this bold project, which is still operating today, continuously innovating and disseminating this art within the country and across borders.

In the first decades of its existence the demand increased and gradually the factory became a small village with all the necessary infrastructure and basic services for the local workers and their families.
