This fabulous neighbourless Lake Farmhouse is set in an idyllic property located on the banks of the Alqueva Lake, a huge reservoir located in the countryside of Alentejo and within a short drive to the magical village of Monsaraz.

With 10 comfortable suites in total and several lounge areas and sitting rooms, both inside and outside, the house is surrounded by holm oaks, native plants, fruit trees, aromatic herbs, and a vegetable garden where seasonal products are grown.
The services provided are equivalent to a 5-star hotel, including all meals, in a sophisticated and carefully thought way yet in an unpretentious and simple manner, just like the Alentejo region itself. The plan is for you to enjoy and trully immerse yourself in the peaceful surrounding scenery without any worries.

The interior design was carefully hand picked and carried out by Studio Astolfi and it includes tastefully decorated places for rest and entertainment creating the perfect balance for those wishing to R&R and also to stay active. A selection of pieces of traditional Portuguese craftwork curated by Felipa Almeida is the highlight of the décor.

The bedrooms vary in size, ranging from 30 to 67 sqm and all the suites have king size beds, either a private patio, balcony or porch, and shower and tub, air conditioning, heating, hydraulic radiant floors, television, and sound system. Seven rooms allow for the
beds to be converted into twin beds. There’s an extra room suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

The main living room has approximately 180 square meters, includes three sitting areas, two fireplaces, game tables with several games, a piano, television, sound system and record player. Inside the main sitting room, the dining room has a table that sits 20 people
and another for smaller groups with seating for 12 people. For a more relaxed lunch or dinner, or maybe for the kids, there’s a table for
10 in the kitchen.

The wine cellar includes around 800 bottles, more than 120 of the best Portuguese (and other) wines. You’ll also find a 10-seat table for wine and food tasting in the wine cellar. The Cinema and Showroom includes a giant 2×3 meter screen where you can enjoy a movie, karaoke, a concert, or a house-produced show. For sitting & socializing there’s also an elegant Bar and Library with a fireplace, interior patio where you’ll find the perfect hidden corner to enjoy a cocktail, listen to music or enjoy a hired DJ that will liven up the evening. In this room, you’ll also find a selection of books, in different languages, about the region of Alentejo (gastronomy, hunting, fishing, and traditional crafts) and also a selection of Portuguese and world literature classics.

To enjoy the gorgeous panoramic views, particularly at sunrise and sunset, there’s a porch with 120 square meters that comprises different
sitting areas and tables for meals with over 20 seats. Outside there are also two swimming pools: an infinity, with 18 x 8,1 meters, and another with hydromassage, warmed to about 30 ºC, with 3,7 x 4,7 meters. Next to the pools, you’ll find a small sauna and a Turkish bath where you can relax. With stunning views overlooking the lake, the hut is ideal for a yoga session, a massage, or simply relaxing. The hut also includes a small workout room that you can use freely or for a class with a personal trainer.

The property has direct access to Alqueva’s lake, one of the largest and most beautiful in Europe. You’ll also find a small river beach where you can rest and enjoy the sun and a pier from where to dive. Here you’ll also find the estate’s boat that’s meant for nautical activities with the presence of a professional skipper. There are paddle surfboards and kayaks available for free use.

Outside there are also sports courts meant for tennisor or padel tennis that can also be converted into a 10-player soccer field. There are rackets and balls at disposal.
